Barbara Strigel is a photographer and book artist currently living in Vancouver BC. She studied at the School of the Musuem of Fine Arts Boston then taught high school photography for over 20 years. Her images are constructed digitally using layers of scanned paper and paint. In the same way a painter works to render something essential about a subject, her process alters spatial relationships, emphasizing the figurative gesture and moving the particular toward the universal.
